Apple Unveils ATV

Alas, it is not an upscale, overpriced, trendy, and pretentiously sleek All Terrain Vehicle. Instead, it's Apple TV, a trendy home entertainment system from the new corporate overlords of electronic gadgetry. What, exactly, does it do? Apple's no-sense tagline explains it all: "If it's on iTunes, it's on your widescreen TV." Yes folks, because you see, Steve Jobs has a vision. A vision of an entire legion of pompous suits and teens typing away on their Macs, while sporting their fancy iPods...excuse me, iPhones...all the while watching their favorite movies, shows, photos, you name it, on their brand new Apple TVs. And why not, I ask? I mean, as cool as it is that Apple finally integrated video, TV, and movies into their latest digital addictions, how cool is watching Spider-Man on a screen size comparable to a graphic calculator?

So will Apple, Inc. again set off the next big thing in the digital marketplace? While you speculate on that, I have to go make a purchase...mmm, juicy.

Meanwhile, in semi-related Apple news, check out the trailer for Air Guitar Nation on their trailers page, chronicling the actually extant U.S. Air Guitar Championships.

Well you're hanging out there, I highly recommend watching the preview for Across The Universe, described as such:

A love story set against the backdrop of the 1960s amid the turbulent years of anti-war protest, mind exploration and rock 'n roll, the film moves from the dockyards of Liverpool to the creative psychedelia of Greenwich Village, from the riot-torn streets of Detroit to the killing fields of Vietnam. The star-crossed lovers, Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), along with a small group of friends and musicians, are swept up into the emerging anti-war and counterculture movements, with "Dr. Robert" (Bono) and "Mr. Kite" (Eddie Izzard) as their guides. Tumultuous forces outside their control ultimately tear the young lovers apart, forcing Jude and Lucy – against all odds – to find their own way back to each other.

I'm not though, that's the thing. At the end of the post, I say that I need to go make a purchase (meant to refer to the aforementioned product). The first part was just me being satirically sarcastic.
