The Killers Take Control

American new-wavers The Killers have been doing a lot more than showing their bones recently. Dotmusic reports:

The Las Vegas rockers have reworked the group's track "Shadowplay," which was originally featured on Joy Division's landmark debut LP Unknown Pleasures in 1979.

It will feature on the soundtrack to the Anton Corbijn-directed Control, which is based on Touching From A Distance, the book written by Ian Curtis's widow Deborah.

For those interested in the original cut of the track, go here.

But that's not all from The Killers' camp, as they are rumored to be in contention to record the next Bond theme. That would be the 22nd motion picture feature in the iconic franchise, which is due in the fall of 2008.

Want even more? Good, I am glad you asked. Outspoken front man Brandon Flowers has revealed that the next single from Sam's Town will be "Read My Mind." The video for the single, which Brandon describes as his favorite track, is being filmed in Tokyo and will feature the band on bikes.
