Your sports round-up, Yee Ha

Sports round-up Football Championship edition.

Yesterday the NFC and the AFC championship games were played, with the Bears wrecking the Saints and the Colts just beating the Patriots. This leads to the Colts playing the Saints in the SuperBowl, with the Vegas odd-makers taking the Colts by one. As I have been perfect this playoff season, I say take the point and pick the Colts.

David Beckham signed the richest contract in sports history at 250 million dollars, to play soccer in America. Did you know there was $250 million to be made playing soccer? In the USA? I'm thinking I might have chosen the wrong profession.

Ignore all the numbers on the side of the teams, they are just for people who like knowing how many "coaches" voted for a particular team. Most coaches are too busy coaching to vote in these polls and make their assistants vote, others just choose their votes out of a sock or hat, but there are a few who actually do vote.

In hockey news, yes, hockey news, Stu Barnes scored in the ninth round of the shootout, as the Dallas Stars (Minnesota's old team) beat the Minnesota Wild (Minnesota's new team) 2-1, making Marty Turco the Stars' all-time leader in victories on Saturday night! It is finally cold enough for us to talk about hockey.

In NBA news, the best player on the Philadelphia 76ers is still Greg Oden, the freshman center on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

And it there is still no baseball.
