2006 Deadliest year in journalism

This past year more reporters died covering the news then in any previous year. Covering music allows us to avoid anything more dangerous then Nelly Furtado's bad lyrics or Avenged Sevenfold's bad vocal talents, but there are people out there risking their necks to provide us with information. They have been real champions of freedom.

The International Federation of Journalists reports that at least 155 murders and unexplained deaths occurred against reporters this year, mainly in Iraq but also throughout the world.
